Its small size and ability to interface through Ethernet interfaces make it a complete solution for developing, testing and performing system simulation of the ARINC-429 bus, both in the lab and in the field.The receive channels allow for the storage of all selected labels with status and time tag information appended to each word, and also allow for filtering and multi-storage modes of data words. The transmit channels operate via a transmit ‘instruction stack’ which allows scheduling of data transmissions and reduces the need for host computer intervention. The EXC-9810 supports up to four independent 8000 family avionics communication modules, allowing multiple different protocols to be mixed and matched on a single card. The primary function of the Air Data Test System (ADTS) is to perform testing and fault isolation of pneumatic-type Units Under Test (UUTs). To test a UUT, the operator connects the associated Line Replaceable Unit (LRU) Integrated Test Adapter (ITA) to the rackmount Avionics Intermediate Shop (AIS) test station. The operator connects the ADTS to the IAIS via an RS-232 Interface and then finally, connects the UUT to the ADTS using the supplied cables and hoses.

The T7 is available in several interface and protocol options. The physical interface can be RS232, RS485 or US Digital's CAN (Controller Area Network). The protocol can be either US Digital's serial protocol or Modbus RTU. The RS232 version supports a single T7 with up to 100 ft of cable. For users that need longer cable lengths or multiple T7s on a single bus, the RS485 or US Digital CAN (Controller Area Network) version can be used. The USD-CAN protocol allows a network of up to sixty-four T7s to be connected to a single host. Power for each T7 is supplied over the CAN network cable. The host accesses the USD-CAN T7s through US Digital's low cost CANA-232/CANA-485 adapter module. This module allows the host to access each T7 on the network using simple, easy serial port commands, just like the RS232 version. The RS485 version supports up to 32 T7s on the bus.
